A June Workshop on Photographing Flowers – Saturday 8th June 2024 

4.00pm-8.00pm

at Orchard Farm Flowers in Beckley, East Sussex.

Whether you’re a beginner looking to understand the basics of photographing your floral creations or an experienced photographer seeking to refine your skills, this workshop offers something for everyone.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn how to understand the fundamentals of composition and lighting in order to master the technical aspects of camera settings, this workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create stunning floral photographs.

Workshop Topics:

  1. Understanding the appeal of flower photography
  2. Exploring the significance of composition and perspective
  3. Utilising natural light to enhance your flower photos
  4. Rule of thirds and other composition principles
  5. Framing and perspective for impactful floral images
  6. Experimenting with different angles and viewpoints
  7. Incorporating elements of storytelling in floral photography

    We will meet at the farm and begin by collecting flowers in the fields ready for your photographs. We will set these up at ready-made stations in the shade of the barns and photograph them in vases, buckets, bud vases.. however best suits you. After some light refreshments of Elderflower Fizz and cake)  we will venture back down into the fields to photograph the details of the flowers in their natural form in the golden light and beautiful wide landscapes. 

    By the end of this workshop, you’ll have gained a deeper understanding of flower photography and developed the skills to capture your own work with creativity and confidence. 

Please bring your own camera, or smartphone to take your photographs.
